Expanding European Education Networks: Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT Supports National Training Initiatives on European Affairs

The Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT – Circular Economy for Sustainable Development and International Trade continues to support educational and dissemination initiatives aimed at strengthening knowledge of the European Union and promoting broader public engagement with European policies and sustainability challenges.

A recent training initiative coordinated by Europe Direct Siena and Università di Siena confirmed the growing impact of this educational pathway, which has now surpassed more than 2,000 participants overall and continues to expand through collaboration with an increasingly broad national network of Europe Direct centres.

The programme brought together distinguished speakers, including Giacomo Grassi from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and Fabio Ferraro, whose contributions enriched the discussion on European policies, governance, and current sustainability challenges.

The initiative also benefited from the collaboration of several Europe Direct centres across Italy, including Europe Direct Chieti, Europe Direct Trapani Sicilia, Europe Direct Venezia Veneto, Europe Direct Emilia-Romagna, Europe Direct Lombardia and Europe Direct Molise, reflecting the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in promoting European citizenship and sustainability awareness.

Special recognition was also given to Daniele Pasquinucci and Angelita Campriani for their coordination and organisational efforts.

Through initiatives such as these, the Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT contributes to strengthening European educational networks and fostering informed dialogue on the future of Europe, sustainability, and circular economy policies.
