Within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT – Circular Economy for Sustainable Development and International Trade, Professor Massimiliano Montini participated in a series of high-level academic exchanges held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the European University Institute.
The discussions focused on key themes aligned with the objectives of the Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT, including environmental law, climate governance, and sustainability transitions, with particular attention to the role of knowledge and research in shaping the future of the European Union within an evolving geopolitical context.
The anniversary provided an important opportunity for renewed academic dialogue and collaboration among leading scholars and practitioners working on European and global sustainability challenges. Exchanges highlighted the increasing relevance of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing the legal, political, and economic dimensions of the green transition.
It was also a valuable occasion to reconnect with distinguished colleagues, including Sarah Nouwen, Jos Delbeke and Beth Van Schaack, and to continue exchanging perspectives on the role of academic knowledge in supporting the European Union’s strategic development.
