The final conference of the Jean Monnet Chair CE4INT – Circular Economy for Sustainable Development and International Trade, led by Professor Massimiliano Montini, titled “Beyond the Green Deal: Sustainability, Innovation and Competitiveness in the EU”, provided an important platform for academic dialogue and exchange among scholars, practitioners, and representatives from European institutions.
The event gathered speakers from various Italian and international universities, as well as experts from the European Commission, to discuss the strategic role of the circular economy as a cornerstone of the European Union’s new industrial policy. The debate focused on the need to balance sustainability, innovation, competitiveness, and strategic autonomy within the broader framework of the European Green Deal.
The quality of the contributions and the dynamic nature of the discussions throughout the conference reaffirmed the importance of continued European investment in innovative teaching and research through the Jean Monnet Programme, fostering academic cooperation on key issues for the future of European integration.
